Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI) is actively promoting social contribution activities as one aspect of its CSR policy. At manufacturing divisions, these activities take various forms such as, factory open day festival and other events clean-up campaigns around plants, the opening of health and welfare facilities to communities, sports instruction for children by the company’s baseball team and track team, plant tours, and dispatch of instructors to universities and so on. In addition, FHI has long taken part in World Rally Championship (WRC), the world’s biggest rally events, and promoted the holding of WRC events in Japan since 2004, making a significant contribution to the development of the culture of motor sports.

FHI promotes various volunteer encouragement activities to enhance employees' CSR awareness. For example, to ensure that all employees can easily participate in volunteer activities, there are boxes for the collection of used stamps and prepaid cards inside the company and the collected stamps and cards are donated to volunteer groups. (The volunteer groups convert them to money, which is used for social welfare activities or assistance for developing countries.)

The Subaru Community Exchange Association is an organization consisting of FHI and 53 of its client companies. It aims to promote exchange with residents of Ota City, Gunma, where the FHI’s Gunma Manufacturing Division is located, and the neighboring area and to create through community development a "community where people want to live."
